When people leave us, it’s easy for us to take it on as our burden, examining what we might have done wrong or not done right. In so doing, we take on the burden that was never ours to carry to begin with. It can be damaging to the psyche when people treat you like you’re valueless, sending you the subliminal message that you are dispensable… Disposable… Replaceable… that your clock has run out… that it’s all the time they had for you… that you have outlived your usefulness… When people leave you, it’s not on you, don’t allow yourself to carry their burden.
Go through the motions of crying and healing, and do so unashamedly. Be the lion and the lamb all at once. Allow yourself to be both. Cry without feeling weak. Be happy without feeling guilty. Embrace the barrage of full-range emotions that will assault you and allow yourself to both cry and dance in the rain. Drench your heart and soul with tears from heaven for what is lost…for what it was… for whatever more it might have become…
It’s a non-issue who believes you, they have no part in it as it’s between you and your God. Stop trying to understand or fix it. You can’t get to the bottom of it. Shirk it off, it’s not your burden to carry. Know you’ve done all you can and let them carry on. Dismiss them. Close that chapter.
The lamb had done its part, now the lion has to roar.
Hi everyone, today’s blogpost was inspired by conversations with my sister, Pastor Terry Gobanga. Family is such a strong support in times of crisis and I wish you all the same comfort during any trials you might be going through. I’ve been, like the French say, comme-ci comme-ça but I somehow managed to get through the month beautifully. If January was a month full of bewilderment, then February was just plain confusing. Mercifully, time is doing its magic and every new day is getting better and better.
Thank you all for reading (as my statistics and web traffic show). Thanks for standing in the gap with me and for praying without prying during a rather intense winter period of my life. March is for new beginnings and hopefully we can all turn the corner together towards a much brighter season of spring, I for one am ready to let my hair down and embrace it. Cheers y’all! Grey xoxo

Wonderful post! Yes, this year is quite the challenge, but I am confident better days are coming, and that which was sent to break us, will make us stronger.

Wow, this year has been come çi comme ça for me, lots of times av found myself in the middle, av been the Lion at times and av been the sheep most times. Thanks sister for this encouragement.
It happens to the best of us, doesn’t it? 🙂 but we are more adaptable and resilient than we think. Tough times make us realize that we are rarely every given more to handle than we can. And so we rise to the occasion and we carry on. Thanks for walking with me on this path at this moment in time. Let’s rise together xx
