Why I Travel

Winter in Kensington London visiting the family

Hi everyone! Time for a re-introduction 🙂 My name is Grey, a budding fashion designer and a lover of travel. I started the GreyDynasty Fashion, Travel & Lifestyle blog in 2016 while on my Eat-Pray-Love journey through Europe, my other home away from home. I am a firm believer that life is lived best when it’s shared with others so it’s only natural that I created my blog as a gathering place for a community of people with shared interests.

A while back I concluded that forming thriving relationships while pursuing my dreams is how I want to live my life, and so I endeavor to be true to these values on a daily basis. Consequently, a few years ago when I was contemplating a career change from the world of finance, I consciously intended to join a people-centric industry that would allow me to come out of my shell and develop people skills through spontaneous interactions with people of varied personalities; opportunities that my current occupation and lifestyle afford me in abundance.

My current travels take me back and forth between the US and Europe on a weekly basis, allowing me to experience life on both continents on a current, real-time and ongoing basis, an opportunity I cherish beyond the gratitude I could ever convey. I meet people from different walks of life on each trip and I have formed some of my deeper friendships in this manner. This in turn has greatly enriched my life and given me deeper understanding,  greater tolerance, and a fresh perspective on various global issues.

So what do I do when I’m not traversing the blue skies? I am currently working on launching a sustainable fashion & lifestyle brand offering clothing and interiors where the goal is to create conscious ethical fashion and home deco designs for those that embrace a fashionable lifestyle while pursuing beautiful living. I also enjoy sharing knowledge I have acquired about sustainable fashion alternatives on my weekly ‘Fashion Fridays’ YouTube series. Additionally, I’m known to throw up a blogpost or two every now and then, sharing unsolicited advice 🙂

Recently, I was invited to contribute a chapter to the successful book series ’20 Beautiful Women’ Volume VI which will be released in the fall of 2019, an opportunity I am super-excited to have extended to me as writing is a great passion of mine, and I greatly enjoy putting together words and images that allow me to share my journey while connecting with an audience.

One of my favorite quotes is by Jim Rohn: ‘set a goal to become (insert your dream here), for what it will make of you to achieve it.’ That second part, ‘for what it will make of you to achieve it’ is the reason for everything I do in my life. Travel for what it will make of you. Start a blog for what it will make of you. Start a YouTube channel for what it will make of you. Join Instagram for what it will make of you. There are countless benefits to getting out of our comfort zone and trying out new things, just for what it will make of us. I encourage you to try it, and you’ll find it liberating. So go be whoever you choose to be.
